My name is Danique
Law student turned freelancer turned online business owner
My business was born out of a desire to answer the all-consuming question of “What should I do with my life?”
I was never one of those people who had it all figured out. So when the time came to decide on a career, and I still didn’t have a clue, I found myself in Law School.
Fast forward 9 years, a failed 6-figure business, a string of freelance gigs, and a couple of tried-and-tested business ventures later… I finally found it. The answer to what I really want to do.
And with it, the magic formula to how you can, too.
After years of chasing the wrong paths and wondering “Is this it?”, I realized I wasn’t alone. There are so many women out there feeling stuck in a life that doesn’t feel quite right, unsure of how to make changes.
So, driven by a mission to redefine the way we approach our careers, I created Girls Gone Growth to help women discover what they actually want and how to turn it into a reality.

It’s 2020 and I’m on my way to the top.
I’d already completed one master’s degree cum laude and was halfway through my second. My plan was clear: finish uni, become a lawyer at the most prestigious law firm in the country (where I was already working part-time), and work my way up to partner.
I never really stopped to ask myself if this was what I actually wanted. I went to law school simply because I didn’t know what else to do, and at the time, this just seemed like the next logical step.
Then, the pandemic hit. Everything went digital, and I found myself… bored. All the perks of working at a top-tier law firm seemed to disappear, leaving just the work—and I realized I hated the work.
To fill the time, my boyfriend and I launched an online store. My love for fashion combined with his business skills. What started as a little side hobby quickly turned into a successful business. We were making a lot of money, but more importantly—I felt freedom, independence, and for the first time in my life, joy in my work. Finally, I understood why some people actually love their jobs.
Then it hit me: I do not want to be a lawyer. So after graduating (again, cum laude —don’t get me started, lol), I walked away from my legal career to go all-in on the business. And at first, it was great.
But within six months, things fell apart. The business was bleeding money and no longer brought us joy. Eventually, we had to shut it down, and I found myself broke, jobless, hitting rock bottom.
I asked myself the same question that had been haunting me since high school:
What should I do with my life?
Fascinated by online business (and the freedom it brings), I turned to freelancing for e-commerce brands. There was no way I was going back to the corporate world, so I might as well put my new-found skills to use. The freelancing quickly evolved into long-term roles as both COO and CMO for several multi-million dollar online fashion brands, giving me the freedom to work from anywhere, on my own terms.
Since then, I’ve refined my consulting business to focus on helping adventurous entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses. But even as I thrived, a nagging feeling remained: Is this really it? Shouldn’t I be doing… more?
Why is it SO hard to figure out what we really want in life? In a world where we can sequence DNA and create entire virtual realities, shouldn’t there be a formula to this? Seriously, how hard can it be?
So, I went searching. And when I couldn’t find the answer, I made my own.
After immersing myself in books, courses, and passion projects, I developed what I believe is the solution—a formula to help you design a life and career you truly love. And that’s how Girls Gone Growth was born.
